Tommy Boyanton
Co-Founder
With over two decades of experience in the pallet industry, Tommy Boyanton is the driving force behind Magnolia Wood Fibers. Born and raised in Mississippi, Tommy’s journey began with T.B. Enterprises in Walnut Grove, MS, where he and his family have been providing high-quality recycled and new pallets to the local community. Under his leadership, T.B. Enterprises built a solid reputation for maintaining reasonable costs, delivering quality products, and offering outstanding service.
In the spring of 2021, amidst one of the most challenging times in recent history, Tommy’s determination to address the lumber shortage and uncontrollable costs for pallet customers led to the founding of Magnolia Wood Fibers. Refusing to be held hostage by
middlemen, Tommy sought innovative solutions to secure a steady and reliable supply of lumber. His quest led him to acquire a sawmill in Monticello, MS, marking the beginning of a new chapter.
Tommy’s vision and tenacity have been instrumental in establishing Magnolia Wood Fibers as a premier pallet manufacturer in the region. With a commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction, Tommy continues to lead the company towards new heights, ensuring a stable supply of high-quality pallets for businesses throughout the South.
Kurt Smith
Co-Founder
Kurt Smith, a lifelong resident of Brookhaven, MS, brings over 30 years of expertise in logging, trucking, and heavy equipment to Magnolia Wood Fibers. As the co-founder of the company, Kurt’s deep-rooted connections with local loggers and extensive knowledge of the lumber industry have been invaluable assets to the business.
Kurt’s career began with Hardly Able Logging, where he developed strong relationships with area loggers and became a key figure in the Southern lumber industry. His expertise and dedication have earned him a reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable professional.
In 2021, Kurt joined forces with Tommy Boyanton to address the challenges facing the pallet industry. Together, they established Magnolia Wood Fibers, combining their skills and experience to create a state-of-the-art facility capable of producing over 2 million pallets per year. Kurt’s commitment to industry innovation and business development has been instrumental in positioning Magnolia Wood Fibers as the region’s leading pallet manufacturer.
